Meet the Owner

My name is Michael Pick, the owner of Lakeridge Roofing. I received a degree in Sociology from Western Washington University in 1986, then started working with a friend’s roofing company while exploring career paths. I discovered I enjoyed doing construction, working outside, and helping clients. I formed a roofing company partnership with a friend in 1988, then went out on my own in 1991. I enjoy the autonomy and flexibility of owning my own company. I like the challenge of solving and fixing roof leak problems. It’s important to me to deliver a quality product that looks good and lasts. I take pride in the way I communicate and keep my clients informed. My goal is a satisfied client who will want to refer me to family and friends. I live near Woodinville with my wife, Cynthia. I run my business from my home which keeps costs down for you.

Just a few kind words from my clients.

  • "Lakeridge Roofing has been taking care of my roof related issues for over 15 years. I can trust and rely on Michael for getting the job done right. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was welcomed and much appreciated. Nice  and considerate people to work with which helps all my projects go smoothly and carefree."

    Erik Foss, Foss Construction

  • "Quality job! All of my questions were answered and the price was right, too. Lakeridge employees were on time and professional. I am very happy with my new roof!!"

    Kim Gallo

  • "I live just down the street from my daughter, and when we both needed our roofs done, we got multiple bids for the work on both houses.  Michael Pick at Lakeridge Roofing was recommended to me by a neighbor.  Even with higher grade shingles and additional ridge and soffit vent work, his cost was still significantly under any other bid we received.  Mike did the work, first on my daughter’s house and then ours.  I have to say that we both liked his communications, low-key profile, and professional work.  We both couldn’t be happier.  I highly recommend him and his work."

    Steve Itano

  • “Mike is an excellent roofer. I’ve been a remodel contractor for many years, and I only use Mike when I need a roof repair or new roof installed. I pick the colors, and he uses excellent quality materials, puts a lifetime warranty on the roof, starts on time and finishes on time, and is very pleasant to work with! Enough said.”

Our Approach

Our approach includes Michael personally working with each client from start to finish. We specialize in residential roofing services:

  • Complete tear off and replacement
  • Roof repairs
  • Garages and carports
  • Recover old roof with new shingles

Why we specialize in asphalt composition roofing shingles:

  • Cost effective with high performance and durability
  • Comes in many colors, styles, and textures
  • Sound protection
  • Easy to install, repair, and connect additions
  • Algae and moss resistant
  • Long term manufacturer’s warranty

We recommend Certainteed and Malarkey asphalt roofing shingles.  There is a significant difference between products manufactured by various companies.  These companies make shingles that adhere tightly to the roof and don’t break apart when nailed.

Why we only use high quality synthetic felt underneath the shingles:

  • Lasts longer than paper felt
  • Resists mold buildup
  • Lays flat
  • Does not tear or break down

Why we only use Hot Dipped Galvanized Nails:

  • Do not rust
  • Fasten the shingle more securely

We also install cedar shakes and rubberized flat roofing material. We do one project at a time—your roof will be the focal point until completed. At the completion of your project, Michael personally inspects it carefully to ensure quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has Lakeridge Roofing been in business?

Since 1991.

Is Lakeridge Roofing Licensed, Bonded, and Insured?

Yes! Complete information is provided with your estimate.

What areas do you serve?

Please see our Service Area map at the bottom of the page. We occasionally travel further upon request.

Can I talk to someone you have done a roof for?

Yes, references will be provided upon request.

Do you work in the winter?

Yes we adjust the schedule around the rain and cold. If a surprise shower comes quickly, we have large tarps to protect your house.

Do you work in the rain?

Tearing a roof off in the rain is never a good idea. We will not start a project with rain in the forecast. Once the roof has been torn off and made water tight with synthetic felt, we use tarps as needed to prevent water damage to your house. Shingles can be installed in a light rain. Cleaning up is often done in the rain.

How long does a roof take to complete?

The average home will take 3-5 days to finish depending on:

  • Size of roof
  • Number of layers of shingles to tear off
  • Weather conditions
  • Complexity—dormers, pitch, chimneys, skylights

What is the process?

First I do an inspection, learn about the project, and provide an estimate. Then we set up a schedule for the work to be completed. Sometimes weather will alter the schedule. I will arrange for a dumpster if needed. Plants and house are protected. The roof is torn off, rot is repaired if needed, felt applied, and then the shingles are installed. Clean up is done throughout the project, including using a magnet to pick up stray nails.

How do I pick a color?

I will provide a sample board with shingles of several colors. View the colors outside during different light conditions. You can go to local roofing supply stores to view the full sized shingle. Photos make it harder to see the actual color. The steeper the slope of the roof, more of the color will be seen. Darker colors absorb heat; lighter colors show more stains and moss. In general, the roof looks better if the color contrasts with the house color.

How and when do I pay?

Half of the cost is paid a few days before the project starts. The remainder is paid at completion. We accept checks, cash, and Zelle.

Do I need to be home while you work?

No. It is noisy and can be dirty. If the weather is good, we often work long days. Some clients go on vacation during construction.
